LABOR DEPARTMENT TO HOLD CAREER EXPO IN WOODSTOCK SATURDAY

ATLANTA -- State Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond said today that the Georgia Department of Labor's Cobb-Cherokee office will sponsor a career expo Saturday, Oct. 23, at a local church in Woodstock.

The one-day event will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Woodstock at 777 Neese Road. The expo is part of the church's career counseling program, which includes networking between job seekers and employers.

Employers expected to participate include: Georgia Pacific, New York Life Insurance Co., Herman Miller, First North American National Bank, Mony, Waddell and Company, Ronald Blue and Company, Skills Unlimited, Kroger, Church's Chicken, Edward Jones, IKON Management, Columbia Life, Randstad, Office Team, Robert Half International, and Georgia Temps, a division of Georgia Pacific.

Labor department staff members will be available to provide career counseling to participants of the expo.
