LABOR DEPARTMENT'S GWINNETT OFFICE TO HOST JOB FAIR THIS WEEK

FOR TARGET'S NEW SUPER STORE IN STONE MOUNTAIN

ATLANTA -- State Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond said today that the Georgia Department of Labor's office in Gwinnett County will host a job fair this week to help Target Stores fill more than 400 jobs at its new super store in Stone Mountain.

The job fair will be held at the site of the new store, scheduled to open in March, at the Stone Mountain Square Shopping Center at 5370 Highway 78. The job fair will last for three days: Thursday and Friday, Jan. 14-15, from noon to 8 p.m., and Saturday, Jan. 16, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The new store will feature a full-service grocery department, including produce, deli and bakery sections. Job openings include sales clerks and cashiers, with salaries starting at $6.75 an hour.

Applicants should bring their work history or resume, a picture ID, their social security card and be prepared to interview. College and technical school students from the area are encouraged to attend.
