FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE TOM SHAHAN OF LAFAYETTE NAMED STATE LABOR DEPARTMENT'S
DVOP OF THE YEAR
ATLANTA -- Tom Shahan, a disabled veteran outreach program (DVOP) specialist in the Georgia
Department of Labor's LaFayette office, has been named the DVOP of the year by the Georgia
Chapter of the International Association of Personnel in Employment Security (IAPES), the professional organization for labor department personnel. The award is given annually to the DVOP who has made the most significant contribution to placing veterans on jobs. And the office where the DVOP works must have consistently achieved or exceeded the criteria established by the U.S. Department of Labor for job placements of veterans. The award was presented recently at IAPES' 55th annual educational conference at Jekyll Island.
