FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE LABOR DEPARTMENT'S LAGRANGE OFFICE WINS
AMERICAN LEGION AWARD FOR EMPLOYER OF OLDER WORKER
ATLANTA -- Bobby Hyatt, center, a veterans representative at the Georgia Department of Labor's LaGrange office, accepts the American Legion's Employer of Older Worker Award. The award is given annually by the American Legion to the labor department office for employer efforts in placing older workers from among the state's 53 offices. This year's award was given for the Convenience Centers of Troup County. The program employs 12 older workers, including Thomas Looney, a 76-year-old veteran. The award was presented by Len Hunington, left, and Morocco Coleman, of the American Legion, at the 55th annual educational conference of the Georgia Chapter of the International Association of Personnel in Employment Security (IAPES), held recently at Jekyll Island.
