AFLAC'S DAN AMOS, TOM'S FOODS AND CHANCELLOR' PROFILED ON SUCCESS TRACK THIS MONTH
ATLANTA -- State labor Commissioner Marti Fullerton said today that Dan Amos, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Columbus-based AFLAC, and two legendary Columbus businesses will be profiled in the Spring season of Success Track, on Georgia Public Television (GPTV).
Success Track is a weekly series co-produced by the Georgia Department of Labor and GPTV that focuses on career development and the job market. The 30-minute program is seen each Thursday at 7 p.m. and again the following Sunday at 11 a.m.
Amos will be profiled on the episode called The CEO Experience, on Thursday, April 9, at 7 p.m. and again on Sunday, April 12, at 11a.m. The CEO Experience, which examines the careers of Georgia's top CEOs, is traditionally among the series' most watched programs. The episode originally aired in December.
Success Track will also feature two Columbus companies this month in a two-part series called Georgia Business Legends. Tom's Foods will be profiled in the segment that airs April 16 at 7 p.m. and April 19 at 11 a.m. Chancellor's will be featured in the segments that will be broadcast April 23 at 7 p.m. and April 26 at 11 a.m. These segments originally aired last Fall.
Each week the Success Track has a different theme. Among the programs that will be broadcast this Spring is one which will show you how to dress properly when going on a job interview or in the work environment. Another will take you along on a job search, so you can see first-hand what works and what doesn't. Two other programs will profile a variety of careers, by introducing you to people who are successful in each. Included in these shows are an actress, police chief, FBI agent, storm chasers and a variety of scientists.
On June 24 Success Track will broadcast its annual three-hour live job fair, which gives you actual job openings and an abundance of information that will be useful in career planning.
Success Track, now in its fifth season on the nine-station GPTV network, is believed to be the only program of its kind in the nation, in that it is a joint project combining the job market and career development expertise of the staff of a state labor department with the broadcasting and journalistic expertise of the staff from a state-owned public broadcasting system. The program has been nominated for an Emmy Award twice.
