AUSA VETERANS JOB FAIR SET FOR THURSDAY, MAY 14, AT FORT BENNING
ATLANTA -- State Labor Commissioner Marti Fullerton said today the Georgia Department of Labor and the Association of United States Army (AUSA) will co-sponsor a job fair at Fort Benning, Thursday, May 14. The job fair is for veterans and active-duty soldiers in the Columbus area who are scheduled to be released from the military.
The job fair will be held from 9 a.m.- 2 p.m. at Building 4, Infantry Hall, at Fort Benning. About 1,200 people, including soldiers, Department of the Army civilians and their families, are expected to attend the one-day event.
More than 50 employers have committed to participate. They include: Total Systems, Synovus, AFLAC, Callaway Gardens, Coca-Cola, SunTrust Bank, Sears Tire Group, Intermet, E-Z Serve convenience stores, the Troops-toTeachers programs for Georgia, Colorado and Louisiana, the Florida Department of Transportation, the Indiana Department of Corrections, Wackenhut Corp., MARTA, Medi-Dyn, Inc. of Colorado, along with several transportation and trucking companies, and temporary employment agencies
Personnel of the labor department will be on hand to answer any questions about career counseling or employment services available from the agency.
