STATE LABOR DEPARTMENT SETS JOB FAIR FOR GE POWER SYSTEMS TUESDAY, MARCH 31

ATLANTA -- State Labor Commissioner Marti Fullerton said today the Georgia Department of Labor's CobbCherokee office will sponsor a job fair to fill about 50 high-paying positions with GE Power Systems, the world's
largest supplier of power generation technology, services and energy management systems.

PROTECH, a private employment agency supplying technical resources to the company, will also participate in the job fair. It will be held from 3-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 31, at the labor department's office at 465 Big Shanty Road in
Marietta. Applicants should bring their resumes, but interviews will be conducted later.

The jobs will be located at the company's new headquarters for its Global Parts, services and sales center, scheduled to open in July at the Wildwood Office Park in Cobb County. The company sells and services gas and steam turbines
and generators. Hirings will begin in early May, so that new employees can undergo training prior to the July opening.

Positions include parts center engineers, parts quotes specialists and application engineers. PROTECH will take resumes for lead buyers, buyers and sourceing schedulers. A four-year technical degree is preferred, with proficiency
in Microsoft Office softwear. Salaries range from $35,000-$80,000 annually.

To get to the job fair at the labor department, take I-75 North to Chastain Road Exit 117, go right about 50 yards to Busbee Parkway, go right to the intersection of Big Shanty Road, and take a left to the office on the right. The telephone number is (770) 528-6100.
