LABOR DEPARTMENT SETS JOB FAIR AT LAKE LANIER ISLANDS
FRIDAY AND SATURDAY
ATLANTA -- State Labor Commissioner Marti Fullerton said today that the Georgia Department of Labor and Lake Lanier Islands will conduct a special job fair to help area youth find summer work.
The job fair will be held Friday and Saturday , March 20-21, at the Lake Lanier Islands Hilton Resort. Hours for the job fair will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday. Applicants will be screened by staff from the labor department's Gwinnett County office for interviews with Lake Lanier Islands personnel.
Applications will be accepted for more than 500 summer jobs, and an additional 30 full-time and part-time year-round jobs at the resort. Positions will pay between $5.50-$8.00 per hour. Openings include clerks, lifeguards, hotel, restaurant, gift shop, security, maintenance, accounting and marketing positions.
Before beginning work, applicants must be able to produce a Georgia driver's license or valid picture identification, along with a Social Security card or birth certificate.
