FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE PARSONS RECEIVES FAITHFUL SERVICE AWARD

DOUGLAS -- Arnold Parsons, an employer marketing representative at the Georgia Department of Labor's Douglas office, recently received an award for 12 years of faithful service to the Georgia Department of Labor and the state of Georgia. The presentation was made by Hugh Burke, manager of the Douglas office.

Parsons is also the commander of American Legion Post No. 18 in Douglas. A past president of the Georgia Chapter of the International Association of Personnel in Employment Security (IAPES), Parsons has received numerous awards from the organization, including a Miller Merit Award for professionalism and an award for being named the most outstanding disabled veteran outreach program (DVOP) representative in the nation.

During the Albany floods of 1994, Parsons received the United Way's Volunteer of the Month award, and has been named that organization's volunteer of the year for community service.
