*
Parking Fee The parking fee for entry to Jekyll Island is used to support conservation and stewardship of the natural and cultural resources of the Island. Special projects funded by the parking fee include beach crossovers, bicycle path extensions, and picnic area improvements. Annual decals can be purchased at the Guest Information Center. 2

STAY SAFE
To ensure the safety and enjoyment of all who visit Jekyll Island, please adhere to the following measures. Should 911 be required, please inform the dispatcher that you are on Jekyll Island. Barrier Island signals tend to drift and 911 calls may be answered in Glynn or Camden counties.
In case of an emergency, location is vital to emergency responders. Take note of your surroundings and location. Beach crossovers are numbered for your safety.
Use caution on sandbars as they can be covered by as much as 10' of water at high tide.
Golf carts must have a braking system, reflectors, horn, rearview mirror, seat belts and hand holds for each passenger. No golf carts on bike paths. Bikes should be ridden on the bike paths. Bike helmets are required for riders age 16 & younger.
No vehicles on the beach. ATVs are not allowed anywhere
per Georgia State Law. No fires on the beach. No glass containers on the beach. Stay off dunes. Only take home empty shells and dead sand dollars. Stay away from marked turtle nests. Fill in sand castles and holes on the beach. Pets must be under immediate control of their owners and on a leash no longer than 16' at all times. No pets allowed on South Beach between South Dunes Picnic Area and 2,000-feet northeast of St. Andrews Sound Picnic Area. Pet owners are to remove and dispose of pet fecal material. Feeding of any wild animals is prohibited by law. No fishing in freshwater lakes or ponds. Metal or mineral detection devices are prohibited. No fireworks unless permitted. No overnight parking in public areas. Lock all cars and secure belongings.

ISLAND ANGLING

The waters around Jekyll Island are teeming with life and offer some of the best fishing in the Southeast. Whether you book a tour with a talented boat captain, cast from your kayak in the marsh, or wade into waves of the Atlantic, there's a type of fishing for everyone on Jekyll Island.

Some of the best fishing locations on the Island include: Clam Creek and the fishing pier Beaches on the northern and southern ends Salt marsh tidal creeks Pond near Tidelands Nature Center and the public boat ramp The old bridge decks under the M.E. Thompson bridge onto the island

Please fish the Jekyll Island way:

License required: Fishing licenses are required and can be purchased online at gooutdoorsgeorgia.com.

Know the rules: Review the Georgia DNR regulations guide at eregulations.com/georgia/fishing.

Recycle your line: There are nine monofilament-line recycling stations throughout the island. Recycling line can prevent wildlife from becoming entangled in or ingesting line.

Don't waste a life: If you catch any fish or other marine life that is not your target, release it back to the water as soon as possible.

Sea turtles: If you hook a sea turtle, immediately call 1.800.2.SAVE.ME (800.272.8363).

No feeding: It is a crime to feed wild dolphins, alligators, raccoons, or any other wild animal on Jekyll Island. Feeding causes animals to become unhealthy and unsafe around people.

Be respectful: Be mindful of other's safety

and

enjoyment of the Island, as well as your own.

The Georgia Sea Turtle Center is a rehabilitation, research, and educational facility that offers the public a chance to learn about sea turtles and see rehabilitation efforts in action.
With a host of interactive exhibits and experiences, year-round indoor and outdoor programs are available for guests of all ages. Come meet the patients, observe the turtle feedings, or take a special behindthe-scenes tour to get a closer look at the patients and their rehabilitation care.

ADOPT A SEA TURTLE
Adopting a Georgia Sea Turtle Center rehab patient is a great way to learn about sea turtles while supporting the Center's mission.
As an adoptive parent, you'll receive a personalized certificate of adoption, a letter and photo from your turtle, monthly email updates on your turtle's progress, and notice of a potential release date so you can attend. Adoptions are incredibly educational but keep in mind they are only symbolic--sorry, these little guys need to stay at the Center so they can get better.
It only takes $50 to become an adoptive parent, and this small donation makes a HUGE impact in the life of a sick or injured sea turtle. Sea turtle adoptions make great gifts, too!
Visit bit.ly/TurtleAdoption to meet the patients and become an adoptive parent. 5

JEKYLL'S BEACHES

Jekyll Island's 10 miles of unspoiled beaches are perfect for sunbathing, swimming, or for leisurely walks or invigorating jogs. Perhaps best known for their natural bounty, Jekyll Island's beaches also offer shell collecting for guests, young and old.
GREAT DUNES*: This 20-acre beachfront park has several picnic pavilions, a deck for activities, play areas for children, bocce ball and volleyball courts, and public beach access with restrooms and showers.
DRIFTWOOD BEACH: On the north end of the Island, this is consistently voted one of America's "Ten Most Romantic Beaches" and has been featured by USA TODAY as one of the best southern beaches for a weekend escape.

ST. ANDREWS*: This beach is a short walk from Jekyll Point, the southern-most point in the Island. Rolling waves, pristine sand dunes, and leaping dolphins are common sights at this oceanfront picnic area, which is also popular for birding and shelling. The picnic area also features a two-story wildlife viewing platform and the Wanderer historical marker.
See map on pages 12-13 for beach access points.
*Accessible beach access points are located at Great Dunes at crossovers #32 and #38, as well as St. Andrews. Beach-going chairs are available, at no charge, by calling 912.635.2368 daily 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

GLORY BEACH: See where portions of the Civil War movie "Glory" were filmed on Jekyll Island. Glory Boardwalk is located next to the soccer complex on the Island's south-end.

SOUTH DUNES: With elevated boardwalk beach access across dunes over 20 feet high, this park offers picnic tables and grills, open-air and screened-in picnic pavilions, public restrooms, dog bag stations, an observation deck, and a freshwater pond.

OLEANDER: Though from its fairway the course is not a particularly difficult layout, it is considered tightly designed, with ocean breezes and short grasses providing a challenge to all golfers.

PINE LAKES: Known as the Island's familyoriented course despite being the longest, Pine Lakes was developed by designer Clyde Johnson to incorporate family-friendly tee boxes, making it an even playing ground for both adults and younger players.

GREAT DUNES: Famed course designer Walter "Old Man" Travis constructed Great Dunes in 1926. Reflecting the Island's unique coastal terrain, the 9-hole alternates in difficulty and simplicity.
