PLANS AND PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT
CHILD FATALITY SYSTEM REVIEW PROJECT Project Description - The Child Fatality Review (CFR) Unit requested an enhancement to their current process to capture Medical Examiners (ME) data for child related deaths in the State of Georgia and have requested additional reporting capabilities. Monthly Update - The project is closed.
CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT (CRM) Project Description - The CRM Application Project will provide a single source of historical interaction with external customers and will provide GCIC end users the ability to search, track and report customer interactions throughout business units. Monthly Update - There are no updates this month.
CUSTOMER SUPPORT & TRAINING Project Description - The Customer Support Training group provides training in GCIC programs, GCIC applications, and GCIC/FBI compliance to criminal justice agencies across the State of Georgia. The group extends the option to receive classroom training or training within an eLearning environment. Monthly Update - The Training Staff handled 62 phone calls, 1,091 emails, 15 crystal reports and managed LMS user account additions. Multiple webinars and one-on-one trainings are being completed to meet State of Georgia training needs.

GEORGIA APPLICANT PROCESSING SERVICE (GAPS) PROJECT Project Description - The Information Services section of GCIC is seeking to obtain the services of a qualified and experienced vendor to provide an applicant fingerprinting solution that will electronically capture and submit applicant fingerprints to the Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS). The selected vendor shall also handle receiving fingerprint search results and disseminating results to the requestor. Monthly Update The vendor (Thales) has been working on updating the applicant print site location map. A demo was provided to the NCJ Team for their review.

GEORGIA LAW ENFORCEMENT MESSAGE SWITCH (GLEMS)
Project Description - The message switch provides a means of communication between federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies throughout the state of Georgia, the United States, and other countries, and to take advantage of new features and advances in technology. GCIC is looking to upgrade or replace this system.
Monthly Update - The team meets weekly for project review and continues to work with NCIC and Nlets to establish a connection. Once completed, the vendor can complete the interface setup and GBI can resume testing. Discovery meetings have been held to discuss the work required to connect to AIX, SOR, GDC, DDS/DOR and CCH interfaces.
HUMAN RESOURCE (HR) TIMESHEET PROJECT
Project Description - Enhancement of the application used by non-sworn units of the GBI for tracking time.
Monthly Update - The programmer is developing the parental leave and employee signature business rules for the application.
NATIONAL INCIDENT-BASED REPORTING SYSTEM (NIBRS) PROJECT
Project Description - The National Incident Based Reporting System (NIBRS) collects law enforcement data on each single incident and arrest for each offense for which specific facts are collected. GBI is in the process of replacing the current UCR summary-based system with this system.
Monthly Update - The Bias Crime implementation is nearly finished; development is complete, and testing is in progress for the Bias Crime Report. Optimum completed and delivered the flatfile and XML technical specifications task/functionality, the implementation task/functionality in GATEST UI, and deployed XML upload task/functionality in GATEST FF. The 2019 Publication is pending; Optimum will publish the publication in the public portal in the next two weeks. Once Optimum has finished the 2019 Publication, they will start work on the 2020 Publication.
RAP BACK PROJECT
Project Description - The Rap Back (RB) project will provide the ability to receive ongoing status notifications of criminal history activity reported on individuals holding positions of trust. Georgia's Rap Back System will include the retention of applicant fingerprints, the implementation of an FBI Rap Back Subscription on such prints, and the creation of a validation process for authorized entities to manage such subscriptions.
Monthly Update - The AFIS vendor successfully performed system end to end testing and assisted with troubleshooting issues in Thales UAT with GBI. Thales successfully performed user acceptance testing and system end to end with NEC and GBI. The GCIC Team performed UAT and system end to end testing with Thales and NEC for Thales acceptance. GCIC created a user training manual and began training on the RB system. Final review of the RB Design

Requirements Specification (DRS) is pending approval to Thales. Roll-out is expected on August 30, 2021. SERVER REFRESH Project Description - GBI is working in collaboration with GTA with the replacement, installation and configuration of several server hardware replacements and software installs. Monthly Update - Weekly meetings are held to determine work that GBI must complete for the server refresh project. Tickets are being entered to request the opening of communication ports, firewall access and database transitions. Migration to the new SORT servers was completed July 30 and the team is working on the remaining servers.
