Child Passenger Safety News You Can Use

Letter from our Staff
Happy New Year CPS Advocates!
We are so excited about this year in child passenger safety. We would like to thank all of the counties who applied for a Mini-grant and we are thrilled to support the efforts in over 100 counties to ensure that Georgia's children are safe while riding in motor vehicles.
This is the first year for our newsletter. We wanted to use this first issue to recognize all of the 2008 Mini-grant recipients (Page 2) in addition to introducing to some and reinforcing to others some logistics about our

program. All updated forms can be downloaded from our website at www.health.state.ga.us/programs/injurypreve ntion/occsafety.asp
As you work diligently on your CPS efforts throughout the year, please keep us informed of any noteworthy achievements. We'd like to acknowledge the hard work that each of you do in your respective counties. And remember that we're just a phone call (or email) away!

Supplemental Seat Requests
When you're close to running out of your initial
seat order, feel free to submit a supplemental request. Requests should be submitted by the 5th of the month in order to expect delivery by the end of the same month. To ensure that every county that has a mini-grant has seats to continue with their program, requests may be reduced to reflect what we have in inventory. To assist us in this, we ask that you request only what you need and stay accurate in your reporting. Note: You must be upto-date in your monthly reports to request supplemental seats. Please submit all supplemental requests via email or fax.
Monthly Reports
Mark your calendars! As most of you are
already aware, monthly reports are due on the 5th of each month. Below, is some important information to ensure your reports are accurate and received in a timely manner: Use the current monthly reporting form.
This form can be found on our website. Enter the date and month you are reporting. Provide current contact information including
an email address. Make sure all totals are displayed per
category. If you did not hold a class, please indicate
"no class held" for that month. Submit your completed report to our office
via email or fax.
Teddy Bear Sticker Fax Back Forms and CPST Cards
Beginning in 2008, CPS Coordinators will receive
monthly email reminders regarding the submission of Teddy Bear Sticker Fax Back Forms and Child Passenger Safety Technician certification cards. If you have received an email reminder about CPST certification for the corresponding month, there may be a technician nearing their expiration date that is assisting your organization. Upon the individual(s) completing the requirements for recertification, we ask that you please fax their card(s) to our office.
