KEITH HORTON NAMED NEW DIRECTOR OF CHILD SUPPORT SERVICES

ATLANTA (GA) - Keith Horton has been named the new Director of the Office of Child

Support Services (OCSS). Horton, who took the helm November 1, will be responsible for directing

child support services throughout the state which includes locating non-custodial parents, confirming

paternity, establishing and enforcing child support and medical support orders, and collecting and

distributing payments.

"I am pleased for the opportunity to manage the state's Office of Child Support Services," says

OCSS Director Keith Horton. "I stand firm in my objective of putting children first by promoting family

self-sufficiency and stability."

Horton was hired as Deputy Director of the Office of Child Support Services in 2006. He

replaces OCSS Director Cindy Moss, who retired on September 1, after nearly 30 years of service.

Horton is a Georgia native. He earned a Bachelors degree from Albany State College and completed a

Masters degree from South Carolina State University in Individual and Family Development. Keith

devoted a substantial amount of time to the military before retiring in June of 2006 at the rank of

Lieutenant Colonel. Additionally, he devoted a portion of his off duty time to mentoring "at risk" young

men. Horton is married with two children.
