GCOA Meets with Key Legislators

GCOA was proud to be part of the CSRA Annual Legislative Breakfast in Augusta on October 14 at St. John's Towers. Rep. Wayne Howard (pictured with CSRA AAA Director Jeannette Cumming and GCOA's Kathy Floyd), Rep. Gloria Frazier, Rep. Jodi Lott, Rep. Brian Prince, and Rep-Elect Sheila Nelson listened and promised to remember seniors in January!

On October 11, GCOA and local aging advocates met with Rep. Katie Dempsey in Rome at the AAA office for Northwest Georgia Regional Commission. Representative Dempsey heard from four women who are or have been caregivers for a parent and the challenges they have faced while working full-time. As Chair of the House Human Resources Appropriations subcommittee, Rep Dempsey is a key decision maker on aging funding issues.
