Athens Seniors Thank Senator Bill Cowsert
GCOA arranged for Sen Bill Cowsert to meet with advocates and tour the Athens Community Council on Aging (ACCA) on September 22. Sen Cowsert is the Majority Leader in the State Senate and serves as one of six budget conferees. ACCA clients signed paper plates to thank him for the additional funding for home and community based services in this year's budget.

Time is running out to nominate the 2017 Distinguished Older Georgian! Nominees must be 80 years old or older, and have rendered service on a community, state or federal level. The deadline for nominations is November 4, 2016. For a nomination form or to submit a nomination, e-mail Eric Ryan .
