Governor Deal proclaims Holocaust Days of Remembrance in Georgia
April 15-22, 2018
On April 10, 2018, Governor Nathan Deal signed a proclamation declaring April 15-22, 2018, as "Holocaust Days of Remembrance" in Georgia. The Georgia Commission on the Holocaust has designated "Incite, Resist, Document: Weighing the Power of Words" as the theme of the 2018 Georgia Days of Remembrance. The 2018 State Official Days of Remembrance Observance will be held in the State Capitol on April 20.

This theme encourages reflection upon the moral questions raised while examining this period of history and what it means to be a responsible citizen. The words we use, when we speak, when we write, post or tweet, have a lasting impact.
The Holocaust took place because individuals, groups, and nations made decisions to act or not to act. Words were powerful tools in this context, spurring people to action across a spectrum of behaviors.
