Holocaust Days of Remembrance in Georgia April 23 - 30, 2017
On March 30, 2017, Governor Nathan Deal signed a proclamation declaring April 23-30, 2017, as "Holocaust Days of Remembrance" in Georgia.
"These Days of Remembrance have been set aside for the people of the State of Georgia to remember the victims and honors the survivors, rescuers, and liberators of the Holocaust."
The Georgia Commission on the Holocaust has designated "Choosing to Act: Resistance During the Holocaust" as the theme of the 2017 Georgia Days of Remembrance. The 2017 State Official Days of Remembrance Observance will be held in the State Capitol on April 28. Read more.
2017 Humanitarian Award
Vernon M. Keenan, Director of Georgia Bureau of Investigation
Vernon M. Keenan has been named the Georgia Commission on the Holocaust's 2017 Humanitarian Award recipient.
The award will be presented on April 28 during the 2017 Days of Remembrance ceremony in the State Capitol.
The Humanitarian Award is presented annually by the Georgia Commission on the Holocaust to individuals or groups that have demonstrated the spirit of humanity through volunteer work, advocacy, leadership and/or philanthropy in their community, thereby fighting indifference, intolerance, and injustice.
Distinguished Educator of 2017: Kathleen King
2017 Creative Arts Student Contest
Kathleen King of General Ray Davis Middle School has been named Distinguished Educator of 2017. Mrs. King will be presented with the award on April 28 at the Holocaust Days of Remembrance ceremony in the State Capitol. Learn more.
The winning students and their teachers will be recognized at the Holocaust Days of Remembrance ceremony in the State Capitol on April 28. The winning entries can be viewed online.

New exhibit on display in Sandy Springs
Don't mis our new exhibition "Fashioning a Nation: German Identity and Industry, 19141945." The exhibition explores the powerful history of German fashion from its international impact to its destruction by the Nazi regime. It honors the legacy of the Jewish Germans who contributed to its rise and commemorates the great cultural and economic loss of its demise. The exhibition is on display at Anne Frank in the World.
