2/17-3/17/2013 Sunday Matinee Schedule
Free admission! Join us every month for special showings of moving documentaries about the Holocaust, genocide, and human rights. The schedule for the newest Sunday Matinees is now available on the webpage. Click here to read more. Both February and March will show films from the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. February 17th at 1pm come to the Anne Frank in the World exhibit for a free showing of "Defying Genocide."
2/14/2013 Sskind screening at Atlanta Jewish Film Festival
Gripping true story of a Jewish industrialist who saved hundreds of Dutch children from the death camps is recounted in this lavish awardwinning WWII drama.Sandra Craine, Program Coordinator for the Georgia Commission on the Holocaust, will introduce a Valentine's Day screening of Sskind, a film among the highestgrossing in recent Netherlands box office history.Click here to read more.
New exhibits come to Sandy Springs
Georgia Commission on the Holocaust brings two exhibits from Kennesaw State University to Anne Frank in the World: "Through the Eyes of her Father: A Slovak Childhood in the Shadow of the Holocaust" on view from 2/28/2013 to 4/3/2013 and "Remembering Ravensbrck: Women and the Holocaust" from 4/4/2013 to 4/28/2013.
2013 Art, Writing, and Music Contest
The guidelines are up! All middle and high school students throughout Georgia are invited enter the Georgia Commission on the Holocaust's annual Art, Writing & Music Contest for 2013.Visit the website for more more details, guidelines, and submission forms. Print the flyer. Deadline: March 1, 2013.
Distinguished Educator of the Year
The Distinguished Educator of the Year awards are presented to one full-time Georgia teacher in each gradedivision. These educators demonstrate excellence in the development and presentation of lessons in the Holocaust, human rights, civil rights, or character development. Click here to learn more...
