11/4/12 "Through the Eyes of a Friend" An interactive multimedia play
Free general admission! See the world of Anne Frank through the eyes of a friend. Witness the pain, loss, and hope of young people during the Holocaust. This moving program is a poignant portrait of friendship and survival, brought to life through the eyes of Anne Frank's "best" friend. Holocaust survivor, Dr. Eugen Schoenfeld, will address the audience after the performance. The play is produced by the Seattle-based theater troupe, Living Voices, which performs dynamic solo performances uniquely combined with archival film that turns history into a moving, personal journey. This performance is open to the public and made possible by a grant from the Georgia Humanities Council. Donations to the Georgia Commission on the Holocaust are welcome. Sunday, Nov. 4 at 3pm. 11/8/12 MJCCA Book Festival: Flags Over the Warsaw Ghetto by Moshe Arens
The Untold Story of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising: In this groundbreaking work, Israel's former Minister of Defense and Ambassador to the United States, Professor Moshe Arens, recounts a true tale of daring, courage, and sacrifice of the fighters who rose against the German attempt to liquidate the Warsaw ghetto, and made a last ditch fight for the honor of the Jewish people. Georgia Commission on the Holocaust guests may purchase tickets for the Moshe Arens event at the MJCCA member rate of $13 per ticket. Click here to learn how.
