Moving Forward
Volume 8, Issue 10
March 14, 2003
Disability Day at the Capitol 2003 brought 1,300 Georgians with disabilities, family members, and advocates to the Georgia State Capitol on Thursday. They called for no budget cuts to services and for full implementation of the Supreme Court's 1999 Olmstead decision as a part of the legislative advocacy day. For five years, Disability Day has united a broad coalition of disability groups who come to Atlanta each year to meet with legislators.
The General Assembly meets again on March 24 for the 27th legislative day. Legislators will take a second week of recess to conference on the FY03 and 04 budgets.
