Dear Colleagues and Friends,
JUNE, 2021
School systems across the state are providing learning opportunities for their students this summer. Many teachers, educators, and students are headed back into the "summer classroom" to ensure they are on track for the upcoming school year. Thank you, teachers and educators! Several partners have also prepared excellent online resources that can be used this summer by parents and educators to get ready for the new school year. For the past several months, the Governor's Office of Student Achievement (GOSA) has also been preparing for its summer classroom opportunities:
Governor's Honors Program (GHP) finalists will be on the Berry College campus June 20-July
17 for intense instruction.
The next cohort of educators will be starting literacy training through Growing Readers, a
science-based reading program.
Governor's School Leadership Academy (GSLA) will host kick-off events at five RESAs in July
to begin the year's work providing professional enhancement for new teachers, teacher leaders, aspiring principals, and principals.
Additionally, GOSA's research and data teams are continually preparing reports, conducting program evaluations, and updating our website's dashboards and downloadable data. Imagine how you can utilize this data to inform education and economic development decisions.
On behalf of GOSA staff, many thanks to teachers and educators for their work during the school year and summer months. We hope everyone has a chance to relax and refresh this summer!
