Apply for an Innovation Fund Tiny Grant
GOSA's Innovation Fund Tiny Grant program provides traditional public schools, charter schools, and school districts between $1,000 and $10,000 to implement an innovative project that will deeply engage students. An innovative project solves an existing problem in an inventive way and has the potential to have a large and lasting impact on the academic environment. GOSA will be conducting a May review of Tiny Grant applications. All applications submitted by May 10 will be notified by the end of May about whether they are awarded a grant.
Tiny Grant-funded programs or projects must align with one of the following priority areas:
Applied Learning with a Focus on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) education;
Development and Replication of Blended Learning School Models; or
Birth to Age Eight Language and Literacy Development.
The following people are eligible to participate in the Tiny Grant program:
School administrator, principal, or instructional coach at a charter school or traditional public school in the state of Georgia;
K-12 teacher at a Georgia charter school or traditional public school who has been teaching for at least three years; or
Another type of leadership-level administrator in a Georgia Local Education Agency (school district).
GOSA accepts Tiny Grant applications on a rolling basis and reviews those applications several times throughout the year. If you miss the May review, apply by June 1 to be considered for the next round of applications.

GOSA Releases the 2015 Innovation Fund Planning Grant Report
On March 20, GOSA released the Fiscal Year (FY) 2015 Innovation Fund Planning Grant Report. In FY15, the Innovation Fund awarded its first round of ten planning grants to nine organizations. In alignment with the planning grant mission, recipients spent one year developing various aspects of an innovative program. This report provides an overview of the planning grant program and summarizes the outcomes for the following FY15 planning grantees:

Deal Announces Two New Georgia Rural AP STEM Initiative Grant Awards
On April 1, Gov. Nathan Deal announced two new grant awards for the Georgia Rural AP STEM Initiative to support the successful implementation of AP programs in the areas of Computer Science and Statistics. This is the second round of funding for this grant, and in total, seven districts have been awarded funds to support STEM-integrated curriculum for Georgia students.

The Effects of Constructive and Destructive Forces
The Innovation in Teaching Competition recognizes and awards Georgia educators who are using innovative strategies to advance student achievement. Danielle LeePow flips her 5th grade classroom at KIPP South Fulton Academy to help students understand how constructive and destructive forces change the Earth's surface. Through Lego construction, video creation, group discussion, and hands-on activities, students learn how various geological activities can

Peach County Statistics
Each grantee will receive up to $30,000 to support the successful implementation of, including creating and strengthening, rigorous STEM courses in middle and high school in collaboration with the College Board. Grant funds can also be utilized to recruit students into these courses and to support ongoing professional learning for Pre-AP and AP teachers.
