Georgia Council for the Arts Welcomes New Arts Services Manager
ATLANTA Tina Lilly has accepted the position of Arts Services Manager with Georgia Council for the Arts. "Tina is a strong addition to our team," states Susan Weiner, GCA Executive Director. "She has a tremendous amount of hands-on experience in the arts industry which will provide a continued level of high quality support to our clients."
Ms. Lilly's experience within the arts is multi-faceted. After earning a Masters of Fine Arts degree from DePaul University, she worked as an adjunct professor directing multiple student productions. She also worked regionally as a director and as managing director at Live Bait Theatre, which specializes in new works by Chicago writers. In 1997, she moved to Atlanta to take a position as administrative director at 7 Stages Theatre. In 2001, she moved on to serve as executive director of the Madison-Morgan Cultural Center. Under her leadership, the organization doubled its operating budget while carrying out a major gallery renovation project and also began its annual Madison Chamber Music Festival as well as the Madison National Juried Art Show.
Tina is excited to be a part of Georgia Council for the Arts and eager to begin accepting new challenges. "Georgia Council for the Arts is a widely-respected arts organization," she says. "Having worked in theatrical production as well as arts management, I have a great understanding of the needs of our clients and look forward to contributing to their continued growth and maximizing their potential."
Georgia Council for the Arts is a state agency that provides support for nonprofit arts and cultural organizations throughout the state. Established in 1965 as the Georgia Commission on the Arts, the mission of Georgia Council for the Arts is to encourage excellence in the arts, support the arts many forms of expression and make the arts available to all Georgians by providing funding, leadership, programming and other services. Funding for the Georgia Council for the Arts is provided by the Georgia General Assembly, the National Endowment for the Arts and other private and public sources.
