Employers and those who manage workplaces understand that healthy communities are vital to economic growth and competitiveness. T.o achieve health and economic growth, employers must align to build healthier communities throughout Georgia ; and
Georgia is creating a foundation for businesses to recruit and retain the best and brightest people- in places where they want to live, work, and play; and
Georgia is consistently ranked as a top state for business; and
Georgia produces more peanuts, broilers (chickens), pecans, rye, and spring onions than any other state. Additionally, the state's technology, financial, and manufacturing sectors continue to grow rapidly, creating jobs in every corner of the state; and
The health and well - being of citizens is critical to Georgia ' s economic vitality. In order to remain a prosperous state for business , Georgia businesses must continue to work towards creating a culture of health in the workplace; and
The Health Means Business Forum joins together workplaces, schools and communities to address health and well-being rankings as collective unit; now
I, NATHAN DEAL, Governor of the State of Georgia, do hereby proclaim September 1 5, 2016 as HEALTH MEANS BUSINESS DAY in Georgia.
