A PROCLAMATION

MANUFACTURING DAY

WHEREAS: WHEREAS: WHEREAS: WHEREAS: WHEREAS:

Georgia is ranked the No. 1 state in the nation in which to do business. Our manufacturers boost the state's economic growth, provide secure, wellpaying jobs for skilled workers and offer support and infrastructure for jobs outside the manufacturing sector; and
There are more than 385,000 Georgians employed in manufacturing, a substantial increase of more than 50,000 since the depths of the Great Recession; and
The total manufacturing output for Georgia in 2014 was $52.25 billion, accounting for ll percent of Georgia's total gross state product; and
Georgia's manufacturing community hosts several events to empower manufacturers to come together and address their collective challenges so they can help their communities and future generations remain productive; and
Workforce development, training and education are critical tools to support manufacturers in Georgia who are facing a gap in skilled labor; now

THEREFORE:

I, NATHAN DEAL, Governor of the State of Georgia, do hereby proclaim October 7, 2016 as MANUFACTURING DAY in Georgia.
In witness thereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the Executive Department to be affixed this 13th day of September in the year of our Lord two thousand sixteen.
