BY THE GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA
A PROCLAMATION
INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS DAY
WHEREAS:
Georgia's diverse population is made up of a myriad of international communities, offering the opportunity for educational and cultural exchanges while simultaneously promoting peace and goodwill among people of different nationalities and ethnicities; and
WHEREAS:
International students expose our young scholars to other countries and cultures , which helps to prepare them for success in our increasingly interconnected world; and
WHEREAS:
Our society benefits from people having the opportunity to meet, share with, and learn from individuals whose backgrounds, ideas, perspectives, and ways of life are unique and different from their own; and
WHEREAS:
Geo rgia is proud to welcome its international students who are in our state to further thei r education and experience the exceptional culture and lifestyles of the people of Georgia; now
THEREFORE :
I, NATHAN DEAL, Governor of the State of Georgia, do hereby proclaim September 25, 2016, as INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS DAY in Georgia.
In witness thereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the Executive Department to be affixed this 3Qth day of August in the year of ou r Lord two thousand sixteen.
