A PROCLAMATION

CAREERS IN CONSTRUCTION MONTH

WHEREAS: WHEREAS : WHEREAS : WHEREAS: WHEREAS: THEREFORE:

The construction industry is one of our nation's largest industries, employing 5 million individuals in the United States alone; and
During this year's Careers in Construction Month, employers, trade associations, and schools are encouraged to conduct job fairs , panel discussions and local community events to inform students of the wide variety of employment opportunities in construction; and
The National Center for Construction Education and Research was created by the construction industry to standardize training and enhance the industry image by promoting the hard work and dedication of our nation's craft professionals ; and
Many organizations, including the Construction Education Foundation of Georgia, are leading the way in providing young people with career opportunities while increasing the quality of the future workforce; and
Careers in Construction Month is designed to increase public awareness and appreciation of the construction craft professional and the entire construction workforce . Georgia is pleased to honor construction craft professionals and the critical role they play in the development of our great state; now
I, NATHAN DEAL, Governor of the State of Georg ia, do hereby proclaim October 2016, as CAREERS IN CONSTRUCTION MONTH in Georgia.
In witness thereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the Executive Department to be affixed this 22nd day of August in the year of our Lord two thousand sixteen.
