BY THE GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA
A PROCLAMATION
NURSING HOME WEEK
WHEREAS:
Georgians are affected by the rising demand for quality long term health care services and facilities that provide caring and supportive services to better the quality of life for their friends and loved ones; and
WHEREAS:
This year's theme, "It's a Small World, with a Big Heart," recognizes the important role our older generations play in the
lives of children and adults; and
WHEREAS :
It is the responsibility of all Georgians to protect and promote the dignity of all citizens, and we should recognize the contributions . of staff, nurses, and physicians who work daily to address the physical, emotional, and psychological needs of seniors and those with disabilities; and
WHEREAS:
I am grateful to the residents of Georgia nursing homes for the many contributions they have made to our families and communities; now
THEREFORE:
I, NATHAN DEAL, Governor of the State of Georgia, do hereby proclaim May 8-14, 2016, as Nursing Home Week in Georgia and encourage the citizens of this state to observe the importance of nursing homes in Geo rgia.
In witness thereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the Executive Department to be affixed this 6th day of May in the year of our Lord two thousand sixteen.
