BY THE GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA ,.

A PROCLAMATION

RESPECT FOR HUMAN LIFE DAY

WHEREAS:

As recognized and proclaimed by our forefathers, "all men are created equal and endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights ... " One of these principal rights is the right to life; and

WHEREAS:

An individual's value is not contingent upon age, race, gender, ethnicity, ability, or level of development; and

WHEREAS:

It is imperative to preserve the rights of all Georgians, including the elderly, those with disabilities, and those who are not yet born; and

WHEREAS:

Thousands of citizens from across our state will gather for the annual Georgia March for Life event to honor the sanctity of life, from beginning to end; and

WHEREAS:

With compassion and humanity, individuals, families, and groups across Georgia will participate to celebrate the extraordinary gift that is life; now

THEREFORE:

I, NATHAN DEAL, Governor of the State of Georgia, do hereby proclaim january 22 , 2016, as RESPECT FOR HUMAN LIFE DAY in Georgia.

In witness thereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the Executive Departmen t to be affixed this 7th day of january in the year of our Lord two thousand sixteen.
