ALBANY DAY AT THE CAPITOL

The city of Albany, established in 1836, is a commercial, educational, cultural, tourist, agricultural, and financial hub in southwest Georgia; and
Albany-Dougherty County is home to the Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany, and global corporations including Procter & Gamble, MillerCoors, Mars Chocolate North America, Pfizer, and Coats & Clark; and
The Albany Area Chamber of Commerce has represented the interests of the community for more than a century. They partner with the city of Albany and Dougherty County to support the Albany-Dougherty Economic Development Commission, and combine the efforts of business and governmental leaders to ensure a business climate that is conducive to economic growth; and
Albany-Dougherty County has had a vital impact on Georgia 's economy, in Georgia's cultural landscape, and has played an important role in establishing Georgia as the No. 1 place in the nation in which to do business; now
I, NATHAN DEAL, Governor of the State of Georgia, do hereby proclaim February 3, 2016, as ALBANY DAY AT THE CAPITOL in Georgia.
