A PROCLAMATION

CAREER AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION MONTH

The Georgia CTSOs (Career and Technical Student Organizations: CTI, DECA, FBLA, FCCLA, FFA, HOSA, SkillsUSA, and TSA) and CTAE (Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education) provide a solid establishment for the youth of America and the future of the business and economic development of our state; and
The Georgia CTSOs further education and promote occupational excellence, leadership, and citizen-ship among its members who are preparing for the workforce; and
Georgia CTSOs are an integral and co-curricular component of the Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education programs which are designed to support instructional objeCtives and the attainment of academic and technical competencies. Georgia CTSOs provide an opportunity for students to gain confidence and knowledge through competition; and
The Georgia CTSOs motivate youth to become better students and more productive citizens, which in turn develop school and community leaders; and
February is officially recognized as Career and Technical Education month by the Association for Career and Technical Education and the Georgia Association for Career and Technical Education; now

THEREFORE:

I, NATHAN DEAL, Governor of the State of Georgia, do hereby proclaim February 2016 as CAREER AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION MONTH and February 17, 2016, as GEORGIA CTSO DAY AT THE CAPITOL and commend these organizations for their many services to the people of our great state.
In witness thereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the Executive Department to be affixed this 21st day of january in the year of our Lord two thousand sixteen.
