BY THE GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA
A PROCLAMATION
CHILD CARE PROVIDER APPRECIATION DAY
WHEREAS: WHEREAS: WHEREAS: WHEREAS: WHEREAS: THEREFORE:
Each week millions of children across our state spend their time in child care and after-school child care programs. Thousands of child care providers in Georgia faithfully partner with Bright from the Start: Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning to meet the early care and education needs of Georgia's children and their families; and
Georgia child care providers devote their lives, day in and day out, to supporting young children in their earliest and most important years. These professionals work diligently to provide Georgia's children with access to high quality early learning to prepare them for kindergarten and beyond; and
Georgia child care providers care for hundreds of thousands of Georgia's children from birth to age five every day. Additionally, they provide over 80,000 four-year-olds with quality preschool education through Georgia's nationally recognized Georgia's Pre-K Program.
Many dedicated child care professionals in our state are voluntarily participating in Quality Rated, Georgia's tiered quality rating and improvement system, to ensure children enrolled in their programs receive the best possible care; and
The future of our state depends on the quality of care provided to young children today, and the citizens of the State of Georgia recognize child care program administrators, teachers, and support staff for their hard work and commitment to our state's most precious entity: our children; now
I, NATHAN DEAL, Governor of the State of Georgia, do hereby proclaim May 8, 201 5, as CHILD CARE PROVIDER APPRECIATION DAY in Georgia, saluting the valuable contributions of child care providers to the future of Georgia's youngest citizens.
In witness thereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the Executive Department to be affixed this 23rd day of April in the year of our Lord two thousand fifteen.
