A PROCLAMATION

MONTH OF THE YOUNG CHILD

WHEREAS: WHEREAS: WHEREAS: WHEREAS : THEREFORE:

Children are Georgia's most treasured resource. As such, providing for their health, safety, education, and future opportunities remains one of our state's highest priorities and responsibilities; and
Month of the Young Child focuses on early childhood issues and highlights the needs of young children by celebrating community partnerships, promoting healthy children and families, recognizing early childhood professionals, and advocating on behalf of children and families; and
Numerous individuals and organizations around our state and nation, such as the Georgia Association on Young Children, are working together to improve early learning opportunities, which are crucial to the growth and development of young children and to building better futures for everyone in Georgia; and
Month of the Young Child also provides an opportunity to recognize the teachers and others crucial figures who make a difference in the lives of young children in Georgia; now
I, NATHAN DEAL, Governor of the State of Georgia, do hereby proclaim April 201 5 as MONTH OF THE YOUNG CHILD in Georgia and encourage our citizens to observe the month with appropriate activities celebrating children.

In witness thereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the Executive Department to be affixed this 3Qth day of March in the year of our Lord two thousand fifteen.
