BY THE GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA
A PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS: WHEREAS: WHEREAS: WHEREAS: WHEREAS: THEREFORE:

SOCIAL WORK MONTH
Social workers utilize their education and experience to guide individuals, families, and communities through complex issues and choices; and
The primary mission of social work is to enhance human well-being and help meet the basic needs of all people, especially those who are the most vulnerable; and
Social workers in Georgia work hard to ensure that all citizens in our state have access to the same basic rights, protections and opportunities. They endeavor to resolving systemic issues that negatively affect community life while believing there are no limits to human potential; and
Social workers provide services in many settings, including private practices, family counseling centers, courts, nursing homes, hospices, mental health clinics, child welfare agencies, hospitals, schools and universities, prisons, and corporations; and
Social workers display exceptional commitment and dedication to individuals, families and communities everywhere through service delivery, research, advocacy, education, and by addressing the emotional, psychological, economic, and physical needs of many citizens; now
I, NATHAN DEAL, Governor of the State of Georgia, do hereby proclaim March 201 5 as SOCIAL WORK MONTH in Georgia and encourage our citizens to join in celebration and support of social workers and their profession.
In witness thereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the Executive Department to be affixed this 26th day of February in the year of our Lord two thousand fifteen.
