.A PROCLAMATION
ELEVATOR AND ESCALATOR SAFETY AWARENESS WEEK
WHEREAS:
The week of November 8- 14, 201 5, is recognized as National Elevator and Escalator Safety Awareness Week; and
WHEREAS:
. The purpose of this week is to increase public awareness of the safe and proper use of elevators , escalators and moving walkways. Children and the elderly are the most at-risk for accidents involving these modes of transit; and
WHEREAS:
The goal of this week is to reduce avoidable accidents and educate the public on elevator and escalator safety; and
WHEREAS:
The elevator and escalator industry greatly contributes to the quality of life of every Georgian, and with increased education and awareness about the p roper use of these essential technologies, that quality of life will be enhanced; now
THEREFORE:
I, NATHAN DEAL, Governor of the State of Georgia, do hereby proclaim November 8- 14, 201 5, as ELEVATOR AND ESCALATOR SAFETY AWARENESS WEEK in Georgia.
In witness thereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the Execut ive Department to be affixed this 2nd day of November in the year of our Lord two thousand fifteen.
