A proclamation: Adoption Day, Oct. 27, 2015

BY THE GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA

WHEREAS:

A PROCLAMATION
ADOPTION DAY
The State of Georgia recognizes the importance of offering children the opportunity to have stable, safe, and loving families through adoption; and

WHEREAS:

Adoption Day has made the dreams of thousands of children come true by working with court partners to finalize adoptions and find permanent homes for children in foster care; and

WHEREAS:

Adoption Day brings together judges, attorneys, adoption agencies, professionals, and child advocates to facilitate adoptions, giving precious children the opportunity to have permanent homes; and

WHEREAS:

Adoption Day is a local and national observance in which courts and communities across the nation come together to complete thousands of adoptions of children from foster care and to celebrate families who adopt; and

WHEREAS:

Adoption Day celebrates the willingness of committed individuals and families to step up and provide a loving, caring, and supportive home for a child in need; now

THEREFORE: I, NATHAN DEAL, Governor of the State of Georgia, do hereby proclaim November 21, 2015, as ADOPTION DAY in Georgia.

In witness thereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the Executive Department to be affixed this 27th day of October in the year of our Lord two thousand fifteen.
