BY THE GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA

A PROCLAMATION MAGIC WEEK

Magic expands the imagination and brings a genuine sense of wonder and joy to those who observe it. The art's performance requires significant study and practice with meticulous attention to detail, technique, and performance skills; and
Magic, also known as prestidigitation, is an ancient art that is enjoyed as an amazing and delightful experience, a theatrical presentation, and an exciting form of entertainment for audiences around the world; and
Magicians spend their lives entertaining people of all ages with delightful mysteries that demonstrate illusion, sleight of hand, and humor, putting smiles on the faces of young and old alike; and
Professional magicians, part-time pros, and hobbyists are all avid and enthusiastic entertainers who love sharing the joy of their art and the mysteries of their magical abilities by making people happy; and
Members of the Atlanta Society of Magicians give generously of their time, talent, and enthusiasm for charitable purposes at hospitals, children's medical charities, fund-raising events, and nursing homes; and
The art of magic is deeply loved by those who study and perform it, as well as those who witness the art and science of magic, mentalism, sleight of hand, and illusion; now
I, NATHAN DEAL, Governor of the State of Georgia, do hereby proclaim October 25-31, 2015, as MAGIC WEEK in Georgia.
In witness thereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the Executive Department to be affixed this 22nd day of October in the year of our Lord two thousand fifteen.
