A PROCLAMATION
MASSAGE THERAPY AWARENESS DAY
WHEREAS:
Massage therapy is a licensed profession in the State of Georgia that benefits the health and wellness of individuals and is increasingly integrated into healthcare; and
WHEREAS :
Clinical research indicates that massage therapy is beneficial for a variety of health issues; and
WHEREAS:
An increasing number of Georgians have turned to massage therapy for relief from injuries and certain chronic and acute conditions to help them deal with the stresses of everyday life and to maintain good health; and
WHEREAS:
Organizations such as the Georgia Chapter of the American Massage Therapy Association provide consumer and professional education information on massage therapy while helping consumers and health professionals locate qualified massage therapists in their area; and
WHEREAS:
Massage therapy benefits a number of Georgians with a wide range of conditions and is a growing sector of the healthcare market ; now
THEREFORE:
I, NATHAN DEAL, Governor of the State of Georgia, do hereby proclaim October 28, 201 5, as MASSAGE THERAPY AWARENESS DAY in Georgia.
