BY THE GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA

A PROCLAMATION NURSING ASSISTANTS' WEEK

WHEREAS:

Nursing assistants play a vital role in the field of healthcare. These hardworking individuals display an incredible amount of skill and compassion while supporting entire medical teams; and

WHEREAS:

Nursing assistants perform various vital services that benefit patients including helping them with basic functions, taking and recording vital signs, monitoring nutrition, and providing social and emotional support; and

WHEREAS:

These healthcare professionals are instrumental in promoting and safeguarding the physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual wellbeing of residents, clients, and their families; and

WHEREAS:

Numerous organizations in Georgia and the nation, such as Career Nursing Assistants, are working closely with other healthcare providers to provide quality care and elevate the status of this noble profession; now

THEREFORE:

I, NATHAN DEAL, Governor of the State of Georgia, do hereby proclaim June 12-1 9, 2014, as NURSING ASSISTANTS' WEEK, with June 12 as NURSING ASSISTANTS' DAY in Georgia and encourage our citizens to recognize the service these care givers provide to the public.

In witness thereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the Executive Department to be affixed this 22nd day of May in the year of our Lord two thousand fourteen.
