BY THE GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA

A PROCLAMATION ALTERNATIVE EDUCATION DAY

WHEREAS: WHEREAS: WHEREAS: WHEREAS: THEREFORE:

Children are Georgia's greatest blessing who deserve the brightest future we can provide them with. It is imperative that they be prepared for the 21st century workforce through proper education opportunities and resources; and
Students benefit from the powerful and unique teaching styles utilized by alternative school teachers. These education institutions create opportunities for all students to thrive and receive a world class education; and
Alternative educators help at-risk students transform despair into hope, creating happiness from sadness and molding failure into success. Alternative schools honor the resilience of these children through rigor and relevance in all educational pursuits; and
Education is our number one economic development tool, and there is no more forward looking or strategic place in which to invest. Our children are the next generation of Georgia's leaders. Preparing them to start businesses, launch successful careers, bring creative ideas to life, and pursue their dreams should be a priority for every citizen; now
I, NATHAN DEAL, Governor of the State of Georgia, do hereby proclaim March 13, 2014, as ALTERNATIVE EDUCATION DAY in Georgia.
In witness thereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the Executive Department to be affixed this 20th day of February in the year of our Lord two thousand fourteen.
