A PROCLAMATION
1QQTH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION OF THE LADIES AUXILIARY TO THE VETERANS OF FOREIGN WARS OF THE UNITED STATES
WHEREAS: WHEREAS: WHEREAS: WHEREAS: WHEREAS: THEREFORE:
The Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States is now in its 1OOth year of volunteer service to America; and
Year after year, the organization continues to honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the name of freedom by maintaining memorials to their service and sharing their history with our nation's youth so that what our veterans have done for America will not be forgotten; and
The Ladies Auxiliary VFW supports the troops currently deployed overseas. Its 500,000 members represent the families of those who have served or are currently on foreign soil protecting our freedom; and
Members volunteer nearly 2 million hours in Veterans Affairs Medical Centers and other hospitals throughout our nation. The organization also provides awards and scholarships to students based on their expressions of patriotism through art, speech, and volunteerism; and
The 2013-2014 National President is rallying Ladies Auxiliary members behind the theme, "Keeping America's Veterans & Families Strong." The freedoms and liberties we are blessed to enjoy are a direct result of the courage, valiant service, and sacrifice of our men and women in uniform; now
I, NATHAN DEAL, Governor of the State of Georgia, do hereby proclaim january 9, 2014, as the 1OOTH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION OF THE LADIES AUXILIARY TO THE VETERANS OF FOREIGN WARS OF THE UNITED STATES in Georgia and commend all members of this esteemed organization for their outstanding volunteer service to veterans and their families as well as our great state and nation.
In witness thereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the Executive Department to be affixed this 3rd day of January in the year of our Lord two thousand fourteen.
