BY THE GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA

A PROCLAMATION MANUFACTURING APPRECIATION WEEK

Manufacturing adds value to raw materials through the application of and investment in tools, technology, and talent; and
Nearly 9,000 manufacturing facilities are located in Georgia, providing 351,910 jobs and generating nearly $18.5 billion in wages for Georgia's citizens and their families; and
Manufacturing represents one of the largest business segments of Georgia's private sector and contributes more than $1 00 billion to our economy; and
Georgia's manufacturing operations include a wide variety of product families, such as machinery, food, textiles, transportation equipment, printing, paper, electronics, and wood products; and
Manufacturing Appreciation Week promotes industry and manufacturing in Georgia through education and increased public awareness that celebrates the achievements of manufacturers in our state, acknowledging their critical and fundamental importance to the prosperity of our economy; now
I, NATHAN DEAL, Governor of the State of Georgia, do hereby proclaim April 14-1 8, 2014, as MANUFACTURING APPRECIATION WEEK in Georgia.
