BY THE GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA
A PROCLAMATION RESPECT FOR HUMAN LIFE DAY
WHEREAS:
As recognized and proclaimed by our forefathers, "all men are created equal and endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights ..." One of these principal rights is that to life; and
WHEREAS:
An individual's value is not contingent upon age, race, gender, ethnicity, ability, and level of development; and
WHEREAS:
It is important to preserve the rights of all Georgians, including the unborn, the elderly, and those with disabilities; and
WHEREAS:
Thousands of citizens from across our state will gather for the annual Georgia March for Life event to honor the sanctity of life, from beginning to end; and
WHEREAS:
With compassion and humanity, individuals, families, and groups across Georgia will celebrate the gift that is life; now
THEREFORE:
I, NATHAN DEAL, Governor of the State of Georgia, do hereby proclaim January 22, 2014, as RESPECT FOR HUMAN LIFE DAY in Georgia.
In witness thereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the Executive Department to be affixed this 15th day of January in the year of our Lord two thousand fourteen.
