A PROCLAMATION NURSE ANESTHETISTS WEEK

WHEREAS: WHEREAS: WHEREAS: WHEREAS: WHEREAS: THEREFORE:

Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) are essential to America's health care system, providing high-quality, cost-effective anesthesia care for nearly 150 years; and
CRNAs are anesthesia specialists who are the hands-on providers of the approximately 32 million anesthetics administered annually to patients in our nation. Over 900 CRNAs practice in Georgia; and
CRNAs are the sole anesthesia providers in more than two-thirds of all rural hospitals, affording these medical facilities obstetrical, surgical and trauma stabilization capabilities; and
Whether the setting is urban or rural, large or small, nurse anesthetists play a vital role in providing quality health care to Georgians wherever anesthesia is delivered; and
We are grateful to these individuals for their outstanding contributions to the field of medicine, and we are proud to recognize their continued commitment to excellence in health care delivery; now
I, Nathan Deal, Governor of the state of Georgia, do hereby proclaim january 19-25, 2014, as NURSE ANESTHETISTS WEEK in Georgia.
