A PROCLAMATION
GEORGIA BEEF MONTH
Beef is a traditional American food w ith a taste that Americans have learned to love and apprec iate; and
Beef is one of our most versatile and nutritious protein sources, with lean options for a healthy lifestyle; and
The production of beef cattle is one of Georg ia' s largest and most important industries. It contributes $2 bill ion to Georg ia' s economy with 15,000 beef producers and 1mill ion cattle; and
It is important that the people of Georg ia recogn ize the valuable contributions that our cattle industry makes to the health and well-being of our state; now
I, NATHAN DEAL, Governor of the State of Georg ia, do hereby proclaim june 2013 as GEORGIA BEEF MONTH and urge all citizens to participate in th is observance through the support of our local beef industry.
In w itness thereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the Executive Department to be affixed th is 30th day of june in the year of our Lord two thousand thirteen.
