A PROCLAMATION
MONTH OF THE YOUNG CHILD
WHEREAS: WHEREAS: WHEREAS: WHEREAS : THEREFORE:
Children are Georgia's most treasured resource and providing for their health, safety, education, and future opportunities remains one of our state 's highest priorities and responsibilities; and
Month of the Young Child focuses on early childhood issues and highlights the needs of young children by celebrating commun ity partnerships, promoting healthy children and families, recogn izing early ch ildhood profess ionals, and advocating on behalf of children and families; and
Numerous individuals and organizations around our state and nation are working together to improve early learning opportunities, which are crucial to the growth and development of young chi ldren and to building better futures for everyone in Georgia; and
The theme for Month of the Young Chi ld, "Early Years Are Learning Years," stresses two important messages - to celebrate children by raising awareness of their needs and to promote early learning for a better future; now
I, NATHAN DEAL, Governor of the State of Georgia, do hereby proclaim April 20 13 as MONTH OF THE YOUNG CHILD in Georgia and encourage our citizens to observe the month with appropriate activities celebrating children .
In witness thereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Sea l of the Executive Department to be affixed this 5th day of March in the year of our Lord two thousand thirteen.
