A PROCLAMATION IV NURSE DAY

WHEREAS: WHEREAS : WH EREAS: WHEREAS : THEREFORE:

Intravenous (IV) nursing is a vital branch of our nation's nursing profession. This practice includes diverse and valuable medical technology such as hyperalimentation and chemotherapy; and
IV nurses provide a valuable service to the State of Georgia and its healthcare systems. Through IV therapy, medication can be administered, chemical imbalances can be corrected, and an individual can be rehydrated. IV therapy is considered the fastest route to administer medication or fluids; and
IV nurses have aptitude, skill, and knowledge of IV therapy. Their ability to provide patients with the care they need in the professional manner called upon in the health care field make them a valuable asset to our state; and
Recognized in 1980 by the Georgia House of Representatives , IV Nu rse Day is a fitting occasion by which to recognize those in the nursing community that provide intravenous therapy. We are t hankful for all that th ey do f or our healt h care system here in Georg ia; now
