Quality health care is an important concern of the citizens of Georgia. The health of our cit izens is a vital component in ensuring a flourishing and vibrant way of life for all, and affordable and accessible medical care is essential for the wellbeing of all citizens ; and
Physician assistants (PAs) are medically trained professionals who provide comprehensive health care services and quality medical care to millions of Americans throughout this great country; and
Accord ing to the American Academy of Physician Assistants , approximately 257 mill ion patient visits were made to PAs in 2008; and
PAs are important members of the health care delivery team who work closely with their supervising physicians in a broad range of specialties to enhance the quality of medical care in Georgia and t he United States. With growing demand for more health care prof essionals, PAs provide faster access to care while also helping to control costs; now
