A PROCLAMATION

LINTON COTHERN
The State of Georgia and its citizens are grateful for the firefighters who give outstanding service and are dedicated to their duty of protecting citizens and property against the ravages of fire, often giving their lives while protecting ours; and
We remember with somber hearts and special gratitude the men and women who die as heroes protecting the safety of others, and on March 26, 2011 , we will honor those firefighters who died in the line of duty; and
Mr. Linton Cothern of the Alma-Bacon Fire Department died in the line of duty on September 3, 1966. His contributions to public safety earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues; now
I, NATHAN DEAL, Governor of the State of Georgia, do hereby join in paying tribute to Mr. ~inton Cothern for his sacrifices and contributions which serve as an inspiration to all, and do further extend my sincere prayers that God will bless his family with great strength and love as they hold him in remembrance.
