A proclamation: Employee Learning Week, Nov. 29, 2011

BY THE GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA

A PROCLAMATION EMPLOYEE LEARNING WEEK

WHEREAS :

A capable, educated workforce is essential to Georgia' s economic vitality, growth, and expansion; and

WHEREAS:

Businesses and organizations that are committed to creating a highly skilled workforce recognize the competitive advantage of employee education as skilled employees improve performance and productivity; and

WHEREAS:

Continued employee education develops individual and organizational knowledge and expertise; and

WHEREAS:

The American Society of Training & Development (ASTD) is the world's largest association dedicated to employee training and development. The ASTD Greater Atlanta Chapter has more than 1,000 member organizations; and

WHEREAS:

Employee Learning Week provides an opportunity to recognize the ASTD, their members and other organizations that promote workplace learning; now

THEREFORE:

I, NATHAN DEAL, Governor of the state of Georgia, do hereby proclaim December S-9, 2011 as EMPLOYEE LEARNING WEEK in Georgia.

In witness thereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the Executive Department to be affixed this 29th day of November in the year of our Lord two thou sand eleven.
